Coronavirus and what it means for SEND Families in Essex.

Welcome to our Website page on the Coronavirus and what this means for SEND families in Essex.

We are trying very hard trying to keep up with the ever changing Government Guidance during COVID-19 and liaising with Essex County Council (Education & Social Care) and our NHS partners so we can keep you all informed as to what we believe it all means for families in Essex.   Please make sure that you  check out our other pages in this section for information on Transitions and Back to School, Updates from ECC, Health Updates and Online Resources and Support.

We have also created a dedicated email address for our families to raise questions and concerns they may have around SEND services and support in Essex during the pandemic.

Family Fund – Vicky Ford MP response

We wrote to Children’s Minister & Essex MP, Vicky MP on 21st May 2020 about the £10m additional emergency funding for families from the Family Fund.

On 15th September 2020 we received the response below – Aside from the mistake in letter (we are quite sure we did not make a bid for any funding!) we are disappointed to note that the letter failed to provide a full response to all the queries raised.  Howeverwe are pleased to hear that they had urgent 48 hour referral facility and an increase of the awards made to families.
