Colchester Coffee Morning

Come and meet your Parent Carer Forum, Essex Family Forum. Ourrepresentatives will be there to answer questions about the work we do, to listen and to signpost you. Share your story on our Graffiti wall and network with other SEND parents and carers.
There will be the opportunity to meet the newly appointed SEND Navigator Project Lead for Essex. The SEND Navigator is responsible for working with education, health and social care teams to produce a framework for increased support for parents. As part of their role, they will be working collaboratively with the Essex Family Forum and ourFamily Champions to create a comprehensive understanding of the difficulties faced by parents, families, children and young people in accessing appropriate support at the right time.

Emotional Wellbeing & Mental Health Coffee Morning

Essex Family Forum is co-hosting a coffee morning with the Emotional Well-being & Mental Health Coordinator from the SEND Strategy and Innovation team at Essex County Council (this is a different service from the Emotional Well-being and Mental Health service [EWMHs] formerly known as CAMHS)

Essex County Council wants to gain an understanding of parents’ views on the type of support that your child and family currently receives around well-being and mental health, and asking what support you think is needed. There will also be a chance to share your story by telling us your experiences via the Essex Family Forum Graffiti Wall.

Transport coffee morning

Essex Family Forum are hosting a coffee morning at 10am on Friday 7th February at Chelmsford West Family Hub Delivery Site, Dixon Avenue, Chelmsford CM1 2AQ, with a representative from Essex County Council’s Passenger Transport Unit in attendance.

We want to gather parent and carer views on the proposed new SEND transport guidance for families that we have co-produced with ECC. The aim of the guidance is to offer clearer information to families on current ECC Home to School Transport policy.

There will also be an opportunity for you to share your own personal experiences of transport and other SEND services on our Graffiti Wall.
